Many people advocate meditation as a way to improve a person's emotional, mental, spiritual and even physical health. Meditation can be used as a way to relieve anxiety, work through stress and depression, and is often a way for the person to rest your body and your mind. Meditation is defended between people who believe in a holistic approach to healing and mediation has been used to help people quit smoking, quit drinking, shake a habit drugs, reducing blood pressure, reduce symptoms of PMS and relieve symptoms of menopause.

History

Nobody knows exactly how began meditation. It is well known that its history goes back hundreds of years, but nobody is sure of the exact origin of meditation. The first written reference of meditation is found in five thousand years, the Hindu scriptures. It occurs around the first mention of Buddha and it was not long before he began practicing throughout Asia. Meditation has worked in almost all spiritual beliefs and religious practice in the world, but takes many forms and is performed in a variety of ways different.

While Americans have known about meditation for many decades, it was not until the 1960s and 1970s found that the practice of popularity. The popularity of meditation was stimulated by the many cultural icons who were exploring Eastern traditions and practices (The Beatles had a stay very famous in India, where he studied under Maharishi). As it became more popular it became accepted as a form of holistic medicine and is now commonly used to aid the healing process of a person or help reduce your stress levels.

Techniques of meditation

There are two ways Main meditation: concentrative meditation and mindfulness meditation. The concentration meditation focuses on the breath of a person, and a single object, sound or image-to encourage the mind to find clarity and awareness. Silently focuses on the object and breathing, a person will find that your mind opens easily to invite peace and the body begins to relax. Mindfulness meditation encourages a person to give attention to all feelings and sensations they are feeling, but to feel remotely. During mindfulness meditation, the person is aware of their thinking patterns and observe objectively, without allowing them to be trapped in the same thoughts.

Meditation is practiced worldwide and is done through two methods main. Although the exact origin is unknown and meditation history of meditation is very varied, the practice is popular and has been recognized by people around the world as a beneficial practice.
